Orreria terms of service

Effective October 19, 2026.

Orreria is a participatory, noncommercial directory of flora, fauna, folklore, food and archetypes, organized around place. It is operated by a sole proprietor under the registered trade name Magichaus ("we," "us"). These terms cover the Orreria website, its place readings, and its MCP connector and plugin. By using these services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using them.

1. Understanding a place reading

Readings bring together environmental data, historical and cultural references, and interpretation. They can contain mistakes, omissions, outdated information or imperfect matches to a place. A nearby species record or regional range overlap does not establish that a species is present at your exact location or active now. Weather models and seasonal fallback estimates are not on-site observations or safety forecasts.

Folklore and archetypes are interpretive cultural material, not predictions or statements of personal destiny. Food references describe culinary and cultural context; they do not certify ingredients, allergens or safe preparation. Readings are not medical advice, foraging or species identification, emergency guidance, navigation instructions or a substitute for authoritative local conditions. 2. Responsible use

You may explore the directory and use its documented connector within its access and rate limits. Use public locality names in the connector. Do not send private addresses, precise personal coordinates, confidential information, private conversation history or information about other people without permission.

Do not use Orreria for unlawful activity, harassment, impersonation, deliberate misinformation, unsolicited promotion, or disclosure of private or culturally restricted information. Do not bypass access controls or rate limits, interfere with the service, or collect sensitive locations in ways that could endanger people, communities or wildlife. We may limit abusive requests or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the directory and its users.

3. Contributions, corrections and moderation

Place reports, corrections, local knowledge and source leads are welcome. Website submissions are reviewed before use; submitting does not guarantee acceptance, publication, a response or a particular review time. We may check, edit, combine, decline or remove contributions for accuracy, clarity, relevance, privacy, cultural sensitivity or these terms. Flagging a problem does not automatically change a reading.

Only submit material you created, have permission to share, or may otherwise lawfully provide. Identify sources and requested attribution, distinguish personal observation from inference, and avoid unnecessary personal information. Do not submit sacred, restricted or private community knowledge, or exact locations that should remain protected. Sharing knowledge with Orreria does not transfer authority to speak for a community.

You retain ownership of your original contribution. For new material you submit through a form that links these terms, you give Magichaus a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to review, store, reproduce, edit for clarity, translate, display and distribute it as part of operating Orreria, including its directory, readings and connector. Service providers may handle it on our behalf only as needed to operate those services. This permission does not transfer ownership, authorize unrelated resale, or make your work public domain. Contact details and private support correspondence are not covered by this public-content permission.

Tell us if you want attribution corrected or a contribution removed. We will review the request and make reasonable efforts to address it, while respecting other contributors and any recordkeeping obligations. We cannot guarantee removal of copies already made by independent third parties. These terms do not retroactively grant new rights in earlier submissions or override a separate agreement or license you have with us.

4. Connector, plugin and external services

The Orreria MCP connector has three read-only tools: find_place, read_place and get_reading_sources. It does not submit contributions, publish readings, modify directory records, place orders or transfer money. Website contribution and feedback forms are separate features. Temporary identifiers expire after 15 minutes or a service restart.

Orreria relies on external data and hosting providers. Their availability, coverage and terms can affect results. Source links identify references; a link does not mean we fetched or independently verified every document or that every sentence is supported by that reference. Your use of Claude, GitHub and other third-party services is also subject to their own terms. See the connector documentation and source and provider notes.

5. Content and source rights

Orreria content can include our editorial work, contributor material and third-party sources. Rights remain with the applicable owners. Public-domain material and openly licensed sources keep their existing status and license requirements. Follow the original source's attribution and reuse conditions; inclusion in Orreria does not create a blanket license for all directory content.

The plugin repository's MIT license applies to the code, skills and documentation identified there. It does not relicense third-party datasets, contributor work or the Orreria name and logo. You may link to Orreria and use material as allowed by its stated license or applicable law. Do not claim that a reuse is endorsed by Orreria without permission.

6. Privacy and public submissions

The connector privacy notice explains connector queries, connection metadata, caches, retention and upstream services. It applies to connector use, not every website interaction. Website contributions, feedback, support messages and optional archive features are separate interactions and may store information you provide or activity described in those features' notices. Content accepted for publication may become publicly accessible. Do not put confidential information into a proposed public contribution.

7. Availability and limitations

We work to improve the directory, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, complete coverage, error-free readings or preservation of every submission or temporary reference. Features and data sources may change, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or continuous availability. To that same extent, Magichaus is not liable for indirect or consequential losses resulting from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or limits mandatory consumer rights or remedies.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as Orreria develops. The current version and effective date will be published here, and material changes will be noted on this page. Changes apply prospectively; they do not silently expand permissions for previously submitted contributions. If you disagree with updated terms, stop using the affected service and contact us about any contribution concerns.

For a rights concern, identify the material, its location in Orreria and the basis of your request. Please do not send complete private conversations or unnecessary sensitive information.
